Quarter life crisis and how to over come it

mid·life cri·sis
noun
noun: mid-life crisis
an emotional crisis of identity and self-confidence that can occur in early middle age.

Yes, you read that caption right.. It’s like a mid life crises, but instead of happening when your in your fifties, it happens when you’re in your 20’s…

am I being dramatic? Possibly… but let me explain, because I’m SURE that there are other people out there, who can relate to this.

25, single, and with no particular career path… I’m the kind of 20 something that old ladies feel bad for.

I’m not even close to having a family, which I could accept if I had a killer career to focus on.. but I don’t. I’m working at a job that I do love, but it’s not a career… It’s not something that I can call my own.
I’m also working on my blog, which I also absolutely love, but it’s not making me enough money to be considered a career yet. (yes yet, a girl can dream)

It seems like the society we live in, expects women to either be stay at home moms, or super career driven.. What about those of us who are in between? and not even on purpose, we want to be one of those things, but it’s not what life wants for us.. or at least not in this moment.

It’s an identity crisis, a quarter life crisis.. and it certainly isn’t easy

To those of you who can relate, you are not alone. I PROMISE.

Now, I want to give some suggestions on getting over this identity crisis.

I know what you’re thinking! “girl… you just said you’re struggling with this, I’d love to know how you’d give any helpful advice”

and I get you!! I’m with you! but stay with me.

I’ve been doing a lot of research lately, getting out of a funk, how to make my blog grow, and reaching toward your dreams.

Figure out what it is that you want

You may already know what you want, you might be trying to find a new career path. Getting what you want is impossible until you figure out what it is that you’re going after. Talk to your friends, or family. The people you trust, and who know you best. They may be able to shed some light on what you could do. You could totally figure it out for yourself too! That’s what I did, one day I woke up and said “I think I’ll start a blog today” and that’s what I did. Although I’m still struggling with a quarter life crisis, at least I have something to work toward! That honestly helps!

Do not give up on something that you really want.

I know how hard it is to get side tracked, when something isn’t happening as quickly as you want it too. I’ve been blogging for about a year, and although i’m extremely grateful for my 1,030 subscribers, I was hoping by this point, I’d be making enough money off this blog to be doing a giveaway every month, to show my lovely subscribers exactly how much they mean to me!

it’s not as easy as I thought it might be, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve considered giving up. But here I am, still putting up the fight to get what I want!

Do not let people get you down!
I can’t explain how important this one is. People are mean… Don’t let their hateful comments, or disapproving comments keep you from doing what you want, because guess what? You’re not doing it for them, you’re doing it for you.. If it makes you happy then go for it! No matter what anyone else says.

Live your life for you!

Realize that you’re not alone

This is definitely easier said then done, especially when you’re scrolling through facebook, and everyone you went to high school with is married, having babies, has a dream career. It might not seem like it, but there are more people who have no idea what we’re doing.

and remember, people only put on facebook what they want you to see. They may be dealing with the same issues, just not broadcasting it.

Obviously, I’m still working on myself. So as much as I’d love to give you all, all the wisdom in the world. I’m fresh out of wisdom. But hey! If you have any, please feel free to leave it in the comments section. We can get through this, we need to stick together ladies and gentlemen! Leave me your experience and or advice. Or just chime in to let us know you’re struggling with the same thing.

all [nice] comments are more then appreciated!

add your email to the subscriptions to make sure you’re always included in my advice filled articles.

I love you all for reading this, I hope more then anything that you reach your dreams!!

Totally with you , haven’t figured out myself either and the blog seems like it’s going to be just a hobby for the longest time

right? It’s disappointing since I put SO much work into it. But I do like it, so I can’t complain too much.
