What I learned on my unintentional no buy

Good Morning sunshines ūüôā

I know that I have seriouslyyy been slacking on getting any product reviews up, the sad truth is that my budget doesn’t exactly include money for new makeup at this time… I know.. a moment of silence…

Weather your no buy is intentional or not, I think all makeup lovers should considering going on one..

I learned how much makeup I actually had.

Yes, of course I knew I had a tonnn of makeup, I’m not completely delusional, however, I did not know that I had enough foundations in my collection to last me an entire year without buying a new one…
a whole year people.. that is not necessary.

I learned how many looks I could create without buying a new palette.

There are only two ways I do my makeup, I either wear no eye shadow and just do liner, or I go all out glam and have 87 different colored shadows all blended together on my eyes.
Back before I knew anything, if I saw someone create a look with a palette that ¬†I liked, I’d just buy the palette, I had enough disposable income at the time to be generous with my makeup budget.
now I try to make looks using several palettes and I like the results way more.

I learned that you don’t need 403 different eyeliners.¬†

I guess this wasn’t a complete no buy, because if I ran out of my essentials like eyeliner, I’d buy a new one. But only in black and brown, the colors I wear daily. I kid you not… I have 24 different colors of liquid eyeliners.. why you ask?… I honestly couldn’t tell you. But I do know that I do not use 24 different colors of eyeliner ever.
Now I’m wiser, and i’ll never buy anther colored eyeliner again. (probably a lie)

I learned to be stingy with product.

I was never wasteful with product, but if I accidentally pumped out too much foundation, I’d just wipe it all off and call it a day. Sometimes I’d be wasting an entire application of foundation… I know it’s sinful and I’m sorry!!
Now I never pump out more then ¬†I need, I’m super stingy with product and it goes a long way.

I learned that I can get buy without getting every single product that I have my eye on.

I truthfully didn’t think I’d survive this unintenional no buy, but it gets easier! I still want to spend every single extra penny I have on makeup, but the time will come that I’ll get to be that way again, until then, I’ll use my favorite Lorac palettes over and over. Because Honestly they don’t get old.

I’ll focus on building my collection back up in the new year, when I’ll hopefully have a little extra money to spend.
So if you have any reccomations, pleaseee feel free to let me know.

You’re all the best and I hope you know it.
I love you all!

You are truly inspiring with this. I will take to me every word! And don’t worry, I also have too many colored eyeliners.

Thanks for popping across to my blog.. I recently had a ‘tidy up’ of my makeup and shocked myself at how many half used items I had… particularly lip colours and eye shadow palettes that are all very similar colours… I’m on an Intentional ‘no buy’ as a result! I was also pretty ruthless in chucking out some stuff that I know I’ll never wear…. Good to meet you! x

You have to be ruthless! no sense keeping anything you know you won’t use again. ūüôā
